Skye, the Island and Lochalsh / An T-Eilean Sgitheanach & Loch Aillse

STAMP, STOMP, SHUDDER, SHAKE, WALK IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF DINSOSAURS ON JURASSIC SKYE

While Skye has been recognised as a significant site for dinosaur fossil finds over the last 40 years or so, an astonishing spate of recent finds has set a stomping pace of new discovery of everything from ‘turtle’ like creatures to icythosaur, tiny mice to giant sauropods. The major discovery in 2015 of a track of over 100 footprints has thrilled professional and amateurs alike, inspiring visitors to head for Jurassic Skye to experience the excitement of following in these fossil footsteps. We invite you to our island to enjoy your own dinosaur adventures, and ask you please to respect and follow the fossil code.
