An ideal gift this Christmas for those that love art and the outdoors is a ‘certificate of shared ownership‘ of a fabulous commemorative sculpture intended to stand in beautiful Glen Sligichan below the colossal Cuillin range. Commissioned to celebrate the pioneering, climbing achievements of the world famous Sconser man John Mackenzie and his internationally renowned climbing companion Norman Collie, the sculpture of the climbers, will be 1.5 times life size and cast in bronze. Set upon a huge rock the bronze sculpture will weigh in at 400 kilos. An inspired fundraising scheme has now been launched which gives everyone the opportunity to donate to the project, and in turn own a small part of it. Starting at 10g of bronze costing only £10, certificates will be A4 size printed on quality parchment paper, each numbered, dated, and individually signed by the Patron and Chairman of the Collie and Mackenzie Sculpture Group. Certificates are available to buy online now, where you can also read all about the history and progress of this project.
